The video above was ahead of its time (it’s almost a year old now), but Idaho Gov. Brad Little has signed into law a bill that makes illegal taking a pregnant minor out of the state for an abortion. Now of course, the teen’s parent can, which makes it entirely possible that said teen might have to ask her rapist father to take her. I can see no problems there!
The new “ abortion trafficking ” law signed on Wednesday, is the first of its kind in the U.S. It makes it illegal to either obtain abortion pills for a minor or to help them leave the state for an abortion without their parents’ knowledge and consent. Anyone convicted will face two to five years in prison and could also be sued by the minor’s parent or guardian. Parents who raped their child will not be able to sue, though the criminal penalties for anyone who helped the minor obtain an abortion will remain in effect.
It’s not an exaggeration that Republicans want to control women and that the theocrats want women to be property of men. This is so wrong on so many levels, it’s hard not to be completely despondent. I hope that the Yutes of Today are taking note, because if they are, the GOP has lost this generation.
Will it pass Constitutional muster? Who knows what happens when interstate commerce clause comes up against parents rights and religious freedom?

The first time I saw that video, I was still hopeful that sanity would prevail within the national polity. Given the anti-abortion views and the ruling of that Texass judge, I’ve given on hoping. But I still identify with the Yutes of today, and will continue voting for saner policies…

We will see how much they love Idaho. I live in different part of the same mountains, only further south. I think it was Idaho that gave us Senator Larry Craig.
I did not mind his toe tapping blow jobs. What really made me angry, was he thought he could just lie to us. Have fun in Idaho, maybe you can be part of “greater Idaho”. It would be safer for all of us if they would just move there and do whatever it is they have to do.

That is one powerful video! Is this where we, as a nation, are headed? If we don’t stop the Republican Party, then yes, it is. We the People have the power to stop them.
