UPDATED: Saying The Quiet Part Out Loud

Our gun is bigger, if you know what I mean and I think you do.

Pay close attention to how Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) says it:

That wasn’t exasperation, that was proclamation per USA Today,

WASHINGTON – Rep. Tim Burchett, a Tennessee Republican, described the school shooting in his home state as “a horrible, horrible situation,” but it’s not something he thinks Congress needs to address.

“We’re not gonna fix it,” he told reporters Tuesday. “Criminals are gonna be criminals.”

Burchett said Congress doesn’t have a real role to play in the aftermath of the Christian school shooting in Nashville, where an attacker killed three 9-year-old students and three staff members. Lawmakers would only “mess things up,” he said.

Burchett does have a solution:

How do you protect children from gun violence?

Burchett has a daughter. When he was asked what should be done to keep kids safe from school shootings, his answer was succinct: homeschool.

Readin’, ritin’, and Remington.

Because MPS is a full-service operation, we note that Burchett says there are some issues that must be addressed:

As an aside, the picture cannon was designed to be fired from the back of a mule, and was supposed to be used on ducks and geese, the point being that a single shot would empty the duck pond. No word on whether the mules survived…

    • Actually I don’t think I’ve ever seen one pictured on a mule; they were usually mounted in shallow boats like cannons; these punt guns (name comes from the boat they were mounted on) were responsible for nearly wiping out the migratory bird population on the east coast.

That jackass Burchett can’t look at the camera or any person around him when he’s talking shit like that, an obvious tell of lying/scheming/Republicanism. He looks down and away. “Away with y’all, I ain’t gonna do nuthin’ ’bout ennythin.”

Re: “Nashville school shooting updates: Governor says now’s not time to talk legislation”

I finally have the ultimate retort, or maybe Scissorheads can refine it for me.

“The RIGHT time for Tennesee legislation on gun laws is when KENTUCKY has a school shooting!”
