Sometimes Fox Informs Its Viewers By Accident

Someone from the Highland Park shooting just happened to be in the vicinity when Fox News was about to record their bit. One of the mics was live and air and they broadcast her statement

There’s more:

A police spokesman had just finished updating reporters on the mass killing at a Nashville school when Ashbey Beasley suddenly stepped up to the clutch of microphones and asked, “Aren’t you guys tired of covering this?”

She wasn’t an official or a member of law enforcement. She was a mom, she explained, who had grabbed her 6-year-old son and run months earlier when a gunman opened fire at a parade in Highland Park, Ill. Some TV stations cut away. Others continued rolling as Beasley, speaking quickly and forcefully, decried America’s epidemic of gun violence. She asked, “How is this still happening? How are our children still dying?”

And it was broadcast directly into the Republican hive mind without the usual spin cycle.

I think she was in the Highland Park shooting, not Parkland.

  3. keep screaming lady – when NOTHING was done at Sandy Hook, the precedent was set – nothing will ever be done about gun violence. when the Republicans can toss out – “now is not the right time to talk about it” or in this case – “it was the hormones” – nothing, nothing will ever be done.

Do watch the first few seconds of this if you can. Someone on the crew turns the sound off, then there’s a bit of eye-play and the sound comes back on. It ends with someone apparently in the studio saying “Yes, we are tired of this.”
The gun lobby may not have lost Fox “News”, but it looks like they are finally losing the Fox reporters.
I’ll take any progress over no progress.

the ‘fun part’ to me is how the reporter keeps trying to get the camera back on him and away from the lady who co-opted his feed. poor guy didn’t stand a chance.
