HAWT!

And you thought the dismal science of economics is boring? Someone porn-bombed a Zoom call for the [checks notes] Federal Reserve. [Insert your own double-entendre here about rising interest or over-heated inflation, if you know what I mean and I think you do.]

A Zoom conference with the Federal Reserve had to be shut down on Thursday after a participant began displaying porn images on the call, per multiple media reports.

Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller was supposed to be delivering remarks on the state of the economy in an online event hosted by the Mid-Size Bank Coalition of America, or MBCA, according to the Federal Reserve website.

But minutes before the event was to kick off, one of its participants started displaying pornographic images on the call, according to Reuters. A reporter from the outlet was present at the meeting.

The article notes that amongst the 200 or so participants on the call, the participant named Dan was the culprit. I know a Dan, such a multi-tasker, so this totally checks out.

    Also, literally any institution that’s used Zoom in the last three years knows how to block this kind of shit (it’s a single checkbox in the conference setup screen, and it can be made to be pre-checked by your institutional Zoom managers), so I’m assuming the regular MBCA zoom conferences are real swingin’ joints!
