I’m sure if SCOTUS had done a basic query, they would have known this basic fact, but they were in a hurry to impose their will upon the rest of us. At the time and in retrospect it was an awful ruling…

Why do you think they care? Even politicians who have to campaign for periodic reelection don’t, and they are protected from consequences.

Like it matters. The ‘majority’ doesn’t control the legislature in most states. The GQP chooses their voters.

IN Arizona the State Senate (which has a 1 seat majority) is planning to block every one of Governor Hobbe’s Agency head appointments. They’ve already Mau-Maued her choice for State Health Department head, the Pima County head who successfully dealt with COVID here with a lower death rate than the rest of the state.
THEY DON’T CARE what the majority of their constituents think, and frankly their constituents (the ones who vote for them) don’t either. They’re kept a’boil with resentments and outrage, so will gleefully vote for politicians that work directly against their own interests, so long as the people they vote for are hurting the people they’re supposed to.

The Terrible Sand People of the Terrible Sand Kingdom of Arizonastan remain terrible.
We had a nominal Democrat in Olympia who caucused with the Republicans, and was pretty transparent about wanting to be the kingmaker, and where to send the bribes. I cannot remember if he died or was finally voted out a few years back, but we now have a majority of Dems and the state is starting to function again.
Purplehead probably knows who I am talking about, I cannot for the life of me recall his name.

Sometimes it’s like keeping track of the characters in a soap opera. Also, sometimes you can just be glad that some totally awful character was written out of the
horse race, er, show.LikeLike
Ugh, yes. Tim Sheldon, not even nominal Democrat. He always caucused with Republicans. I think he didn’t run for reëlection to the state Senate, but I don’t know the reason. At least he’s outta there.

We’re -> <- this close to finally getting a Democratic House and Senate here in TTSKoA. The State House has been in GOP control since 1966.
We managed to take the Senate just twice since then: 1976 and 1990

Oh, shit. Now he’ll have to reference the laws of seventh century Brittan to justify their whims.

I don’t think this theocratic clot could care less what most Americans in every state think about Dobbs. He’s a petty, petulant, intellectual homunculus in judicial robes who knows better than all of us.
So help him, God!

Now I want to taste clotted cream. I tried googling it and it sounds like a sort of milk jam. Buy on line or try it at home? Hmm.

I was going to use a more vulgar word and then thought this old British put-down better described this stuck-up (pun intended) pseudo-intellectual. Same with “homunculus”: big woids for a little man.

Homunculus defines or implies both small and motherless, which could explain a few things about this clot, such as he don’t seem to understand how pregnancy works or how it impacts most people.

To hear them tell it, they are above the whims and fevered desires of the masses. Just as the Founders intended. There’s a super majority of conservative Catholics on the court who want to use the government to force everyone to go where even Pope Francis knows most Catholics aren’t interested. If Gen. Franco weren’t still dead, even he’d tell these idiots to knock it off.
