Seething Rage.

You know how this goes. (All quotes are from Truth Social, no links for obvious reasons.)
First the Now:
“This Georgia case is ridiculous, a strictly political continuation of the greatest Witch Hunt of all time. Now you have an extremely energetic young woman, the (get this!) ‘foreperson’ of the Racist D.A.’s Special Grand Jury, going around and doing a Media Tour revealing, incredibly, the Grand Jury’s inner workings & thoughts. This is not JUSTICE, this is an illegal Kangaroo Court.”
And now the Then:
“Thank you to the Special Grand Jury in the Great State of Georgia for your Patriotism & Courage. Total exoneration. The USA is very proud of you!!!”
I guess he heard some of the excerpts from the Grand Jury Foreman (who really ought to shut-up, she’s jinxing the whole deal).
Lord Damp Nut is not smart, but he is cunning. I’ll be surprised if his attorneys don’t use this blabbermouth as grounds to quash any indictments.
UPDATE 1: Tiger Beat’s email thingie –
And then the lawyers pounced. Last night, CBS’s Bob Costa and Graham Kates reported that some lawyers for those targeted in the probe “are preparing to move to quash any possible indictments by the district attorney.”
The reaction from legal scholars has been all over the place.
Some have emphasized that Kohrs didn’t reveal much beyond colorful anecdotes and that even the arguably deliberative material she disclosed was already widely assumed to be the case. Besides, the special grand jury doesn’t have the power to indict (that’s for a “regular” criminal grand jury to decide) let alone convict (that’s what a trial jury would be for).
Other lawyers have been more alarmed and believe Kohrs may have presented Trump and his allies with a real gift, both in terms of the raw politics of discrediting the investigation and also in terms of the legal options now available to challenge any indictments stemming from the special grand jury’s work.
We will know soon if Kohrs’ two-day, five-interview tour has affected Willis’s view of how to proceed. She recently said decisions about indictments are “imminent.”
Well, we’re totally in the dark about what’s next.
The resident legal Wonker is not happy with this, https://www.wonkette.com/ga-grand-jury-foreperson-is-telling-us-what-we-want-to-hear-she-should-stop-that but I don’t know. Like you said she’s not revealing anything she was told not to reveal, and like she said , it sure as hell isn’t rocket surgery to predict indictments for perjury…

Kohrs essentially painted a bullseye on her back; life is going to become Chinese-curse interesting this year.

It will not be the Greatest Witch Hunt of All Time until someone gets burned at the stake.

I would pay good money to see that. From a safe distance of course.

I’m reserving most of my ire for every damn media outlet that rushed to give this “between jobs” Special Grand Jury Forewoman her shot at 15 minutes of fame, knowing damn well that they might be enabling the demise of the best currently available shot at taking down the PAB (what Crissy said.) They are collectively scoop whores who shrug their collective shoulders at any sense of acting responsibly when it gets in the way of “an exclusive.” Shame on them. Don’t even get me started on the dangerous (in the sense of “TMI”) manner in which some outlets (and some big-mouth Congresscritters) are broadcasting information about the war in Ukraine.

I have a suspicion that the very low-key Biden administration response to the Ohio derailment is connected to the preparations necessary for Biden to personally visit Ukraine without arriving to an unwelcome greeting. They coulda sent someone also, doing two things at once. Or did they send someone? Today’s media would have mostly ignored it, so how would I know?
I just don’t know anything anymore. It’s all speculation. Would it be irresponsible to continue to speculate?

Colbert has a good take on Trump’s and others in his orbit’s recent misbehavior. Definitely worth a look..
