We do not know for which party! He forgets to mention it! But we can take a guess after hearing his announcement:
Ramaswamy is the Andrew Yang of 2024.

He honestly thinks he can make headway in the GOP (because when you’r describing ‘wokeism’ and ‘climateism’ as ‘secular religions’ you’re full of shit, and sure as hell ain’t running as a Democrat).
He just declared the majority of this country as ‘the enemy’ to be defeated, which the MAGAt’s will love, but they’ll still string him up as soon as look at him.

They (Republicans) keep spewing about ideals like liberty and free speech, but I don’t believe they know what those actually entail. And the “merit” bit is startling, and of concern to me, though I’m fairly certain this guy’s not getting very far in the campaign. Maybe his campaign is the misogynist response to Ms. Haley’s campaign.

“Merit” is very silicon valley. It’s what Musk was trying to convey when he was spouting off about demanding loyalty and the remaining employees be “hardcore.” It’s the way of getting people to work 80 hours a week and only paying them for 40. It’s how libertarians took over SV.
The thing is, Silicon Valley is as networked as anyplace, and it totally runs by who’s in.

Ah-thanks! I was thinking of the roaring 20’s, for some reason: rich people being rich because of their merit, not because of some ancestor who did do some work and made some money, then managed it for his family, descendants of whom now proceed to just take other people’s money.

Yeah, leading asterisks seem to disappear. It’s like the system takes it as starting italics, which apply to the nothing that follows.
I’ve taken to using other symbols.

I take full responsibility for the missing asterisk. I always go over my posts for errors before posting, but even Jove nods.

WP interprets asterisks surrounding words as:
one asterisk
two asterisks
three astrerisks
If that is not what you intend, put in a space between the asterisk and the word. It sees it as broken HTML and disregards it if it touches the work AND does not have a match to conclude.
