This is a very real problem! I remember the absolutely heartbreaking scenes of homeless, unemployed drug-sniffing dogs pawhandling for kibble on street corners when they legalized pot here in AZ.

True fact, dogs can be trained to sniff other things, cancer or Covid, to mane two.

I was considering my comment as I scrolled down, thought of a good one, and beheld you beat me to it! Dogs with their vastly superior sniffing skills have many prospects to avoid becoming spongers and layabouts.
