What kind of possum is that!? It’s actually kind of cute, not like the bedraggled, pale tooth-rats that I used to see in our old neighborhood.

We had a couple that hubby found as babies. I think he found them with their mom, so he knew they were orphans.
I don’t really remember if he meant to make pets of them or was just trying to protect them until they were adults. He kept them in the rabbit hutch * but we didn’t know that you have to keep them apart.
One of them took out his brother. To be fair, they were enclosed so it was an unnatural situation for them. It was kind of grisly, though, and this has probably colored my perception of possums.
* The rabbit died.

MDavis – what the NZers and Aussies call a possum is not a member of the possum family (though they do have a native possum which they gave an entirely different name). It’s confusing.
