It’s our worst nightmare realized: a cat with thumbs.
We’re doomed.

An addendum of sorts. Once he or she figures out how to use its claws, someone’s ankles will be doomed…

We’re not doomed. They’ll keep some of us around as servants and toys to play with…

Excellent hitchhiker if the whole overlord thing doesn’t pan out.

I had a polydactyl cat and he could hang on the the door jamb of the closet with his thumb and pull all the linens out onto the floor. Then he would sleep in the pile.

We had one who would literally pick up her food to eat it. It’s probably the Siamese polydactyl cats well need to be careful of. Our half Siamese already opens any unlocked door he wants to, I don’t want to imagine what he’d do with thumbs.

Oh, is that what my fifth weird inside finger is? I’ve been wondering for 82 years what that thing is good for. I heard once that someone opposed it, so I’ve ignored it since then, as a proper social rebel.
