Those stats are interesting, particularly seeing the lesser advantaged and older seem to lean more Trump. I understand what that’s about, but I don’t know if I’ll ever get it; those groups do better with Dem policies, yet go far-right Repub every time, I guess just out of pure p and v.

John Stoehr of the Editorial Board just published an article, Biden’s Buying Off the Racists, that might explain this.
It dovetails nicely with the theory I’ve read that those who don’t have much to fall back on are vulnerable to cults. Could be Jim Jones, could be white supremacy cults.
Anyway, it does make some kind of sense out of support for politicians who have nothing to offer but badmouthing the others. Maybe offering a better deal, affording red meat on (if that’s your thing) rather than red meat in rhetoric. You can eat it, and you don’t get stuck walking a mile back to your car in sub-zero temps when your hero gets done stroking his ego by making you cheer, Pavlov style.
