Report: Banana Republic is Full of Bananas Republicans

It’s Floriduh, Jake

The article in the WaPo is nominally about Floriduh Democrats in Disarray, but when you read it carefully, it’s really about the bugnuts:

More than two months after enduring humbling midterm losses, Democrats in Florida are in a state of disorder, with no clear leader, infrastructure, or consensus for rebuilding, according to interviews with more than a dozen organizers, former lawmakers, donors and other leaders.

These factors have compounded their worries about Democrats outside Florida all but writing off the nation’s third most populous state, which was once seen as a marquee battleground. Democrats have struggled there in recent elections, hitting a new low last fall when Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis won a second term by nearly 20 points and carried majority-Hispanic Miami-Dade County, which a GOP gubernatorial nominee hadn’t done in 20 years. Republicans also secured a supermajority in the state legislature.

I don’t think a 20pt loss is exactly the problem of the Democrats as it is that the population of Floriduh has shifted and not one is willing to say it is a Red State now (but it is). I’m not sure anyone with a (D) after their name could win there. I’ve read that Boomer wingnuts from all over the country, but especially from the midwest are going to Floriduh to retire. The Villages recently had headlines about their incredible growth. I think we might start to see Red States in the midwest turn purple as Floriduh turns redder. Just a thought.

Anyway, this is not to dismiss the Democrats problem in Floriduh, but this might be something beyond their control.

“The thing about Florida Democrats is we keep learning with every passing year that just when you thought you had hit bottom, you discover that there are new abysses to fall deeper and deeper into,” said Fernand Amandi, a veteran Democratic operative in the state. “There is no plan. There’s nothing. It’s just a state of suspended animation and chaos — and, more than anything, it’s the mournful regret and acceptance that Florida has been cast aside for the long, foreseeable future.”

Because we always blame ourselves first.

Florida can cleave right off the continent and drift out to sea to sink down to the level of whale shit, the lowest place on Earth. I was born around the corner from Mar a Lardo and can not tell you how glad I am we escaped the crooks, scammers, and snakes of reptile and human types. The old folks will die off, the young folks will be dull and stupid by design, coming from schools with no books and that deny that black people even exist. A lot of folks will continue to be unable to vote, by design, and the rabble will run the show until some better crook comes along. Democrats are right to just ignore the entire state and should spend the money helping white nationalists move there to get them the hell out of the US and our voting pools in more enlightened states. I extend my condolences if you have to live there.

Florida is one state with two senators. The more Fox News zombies and MAGAts move to The Villages, the better it is for the rest of us.

Especially Arizona. Let’s offer moving expenses.
