This is news: Per Tiger Beat on the Potomac (thanks Charlie!) morning email thingie, someone else (accidentally) lied about infamous serial fibber George Santos:
No “Crazy Carl”: For once, someone besides Santos made up something about Santos. The trusted Congressional data platform LegiStorm posted on Monday that Carl Paladino, a notorious wildcard New York Republican, had been hired to work for Santos on Capitol Hill. The news spread quickly on Capitol Hill and Twitter, based on LegiStorm’s established reputation for accuracy. Santos spokesperson Naysa Woomer told Nicholas the staffing update was “inaccurate. Mr. Paladino is not employed by our office.” And LegiStorm eventually had some explaining to do. “We accidentally added him as a staffer for about 5 minutes before discovering the error and removing the information,” LegiStorm said Monday. They blamed a caching issue for why the staffing update was online longer.
Carl Paladino reacts:
Hell is empty and all the devils are here:
Who is working for Santos: Naysa Woomer is Santos’ communications director, back on Capitol Hill after a stint with the Massachusetts Republican party. Rafaello Carone, who has worked for Reps. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), Greg Steube (R-Fla.) and Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.) all since Feb. 2021, is now a legislative assistant for Santos.
And everything is fine:
Santos’ seats: When Olivia asked Santos Monday night if he had spoken to McCarthy about whether he’d receive committee assignments, he said they have talked and that he expects to receive assignments just like other members.
