Q-Anon Goes Brazilian
It seems America exports more of our culture than only movies. It’s a good thing that Brazil does not have a Merrick Garland:
“The terrorists who promote the destruction of public spaces in Brasília are being identified and punished. Tomorrow we will resume work at the Presidential Palace. Democracy forever. Goodnight,” he tweeted.
Their Trump, former president and alleged-inciter-of-insurrection Jair Bolsonaro is apparently out of the country, and is reportedly visiting Florida. What a coinkydink.
(Reminder: MPS is not an international relations blog, we barely know where Brazil is, and so our opinion must be taken with a lot of salt. That said, and given that Steve Bannon and Jason Miller are on Bolsonaro’s advisor list, we feel pretty much on safe ground to say that there is a connection here to all of our own bad players.)
UPDATE 1:
Side note: I’m really sad that these insurrectionists decided as a uniform to wear their national soccer team’s jersey, instead of something silly like:

(H/T Scissorhead Skinny-D)
What I want to see is how long it takes them to put these perps behind bars. I don’t think they are as hamstrung as we are, but time will tell. I want to see some quick trials with meaty sentences. We need a country to show us how it’s done when your people are seditious and treasonous.
