“Calling Mike Pence…”
As I am snow’ed in, all afternoon I’ve been reading transcripts from Cassidy Hutchinson, and boy howdy, this is riveting stuff.
And if you want a smoking gun, Politico already read it and pulled this out (which is what set me off reading the transcript):
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy told then-White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson in the days before Jan. 6, 2021, that Donald Trump had privately acknowledged losing the 2020 election, according to a newly disclosed interview Hutchinson gave to the Jan. 6 select committee.
So, yeah, those charges that Jan 6 Committee recommended to the DOJ have some pretty solid evidence.
Also, K-Mac is really bad at his job.
Snowed in? Seriously?

More like iced-in…https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/weather/i-90-closed-on-eastside-metro-and-sound-transit-bus-service-halted-in-icy-conditions/ Time for more fun videos of Seattle drivers caroming helplessly down hills…

The Emergency Alert system has asked everyone to stay put, the fire department is busy helping people who slipped on the ice; none of the public transit systems (except the subway) are operating, including Sea-Tac. I just checked social media, pretty much all the grocery stores are closed, cafes are closed, even the library (which is often used in inclement weather for helping the unhoused and seniors) is closed system wide.
Seriously, it’s freakin’ eery how quiet it is.

Aw, crud, that’s no joke. The whole city is a bunch of hills. We were in town for one of these and saw a bus, I think it was a school band bus?, hanging off the edge of a drop off. No longer moving but, damn that was close.
Stay safe, TG.

Well finally the snow storm has at long last drifted down to the Peoples Republic of Portland. I live near the Columbia River Gorge (aka…the wind tunnel) so I sympathize with anyone getting stuck outside. On the brighter side Portland has opened enough emergency shelters to handle the demand, and even our local high school was opened to anyone suffering from the cold. Last night we had 50 mile per hour winds while the temperature hovered around 17 degrees. The wood stove I installed years ago has made all the difference in keeping us comfortable…
