Bad Signs, Cont.

H/T @NamelessCynic@home.social now on Mastodon!

I can think of at least 3 clubs on Market Street who might put this up as a suggestion rather than a warning.

I don’t know about other people, but since the pandemic, I just don’t shake hands anymore. I touch elbows instead. Don’t see a reason to stop that, either.

I suggest waving elbows from six feet apart. I never go anywhere indoors without an N95 mask, but I’m under a month shy of 82 and hope to reach 1 or 2 hundred.

Amen to that! Same here: I have a P100 mask ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013SIIBME/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) that I use instead of the GATApack N95 I used to use, b/c I find the P100 makes for a better skin-seal (wider, stronger straps, thick rubber bumper around the edge of the mask) and like you, I always wear it when in “foreign buildings” and public transit. Except literally poolside in my gym. Of course, I lift weight with it.

It’s got an exhale valve, so it’s actually easier the breathe than an N95. And sure, that means that I’m not breathing out thru a filter. But then, since few around me are wearing their masks, I figure they don’t care, so why should I? Of course, it’s always wise to carry an N95 in-pocket, for those rare occasions where an N95 mask (or full-filtered mask) is required. But (again) I haven’t seen that anywhere in …. months.

      • If you don’t mind exhaling through a valve, I’d reccomend an RZ mask. Actually better than N95, it does make a good seal, even on my bearded face and is quite comfortable. https://rzmask.com/ They do sell caps that block the exhale valve, too.

Rated to block 99.9% of all particulates down to 0.1 micron.

Actually discovered them for doing yardwork and woodworking, it’s so nice to be able to do that without sending my asthma and allergies into Deathcon-5 status.

  3. I think the most disturbing bit is that they appear to be identical twins.

They should still wash their hands.
