Bad Tattoos, Thanksgiving Edition

I’m truly, deeply thankful for the entire community of Scissorheads, where’er they might be.

I know we’re supposed to profess thanks for serious stuff and abundance and other blessings, but really, for the blogger there is nothing to be more grateful for than having the smartest, funniest, kindest and HOT DAMN! best looking readers and commenters on the internet.

So undo the top button on your pants (hubb-hubba!), and consider having another piece of pie while you gather your pets and loved ones around (except your Facebook Rage Uncle, and have we yet said, Eff That Guy?) and bask in the warm glow of the tryptophan, for tomorrow we are back at it what with a Senate race in Georgeduh to win, and all the usual mopes and dopes in the media opining on the Left’s imminent  doom if we don’t listen to them. The spitballing starts fresh tomorrow.

The power went out here. I couldn’t even watch the movies my cable company gave me with a free preview of all their premium channels.

I’m sorry about that. I hope you stayed comfortable!

I went to bed and cuddled with my kitties. I still had some lights on thanks to backup power systems, so I could read. The regular power came back on after about two hours, so I could resume normal activity. Fortunately, I have a gas stove, so I kept a burner lit to have a way to light candles if that became necessary.

I don’t have any family to spend holidays with (they’re all Facebook Rage Relatives), and my fondest hope for their Thanksgiving is that their turkey was riddled with salmonella.

Probably not for everyone, but we have a wood stove insert in our former fireplace that heats the house when the power goes out, as well as a natural gas stove in our yoga room that generates enough power to run itself. All in all both buys were our best investments when winter comes around…
