I know I’m not alone in this, but if I were the King of the Forest, you better believe I would be a gun-grabber. If I could, I would repeal the Second Amendment in a heartbeat.
But I am not King of the Forest, and so the slaughter will continue, unabated, until We the People say that we’ve had enough.

Our precious 2nd Amendment guarantees every American the Right to be shot while going about their business.

The 2nd Amendment was supposed to allow the various states to form militias for their self protection. It was, in my opinion never meant to allow modern weapons of war onto our city streets. Back in the musket era a good marksman could shoot maybe two times in a minute. Nowadays a shooter can shoot 300 or 4oo rounds a minute. The velocity of modern ammunition makes them far deadlier than muskets. I found this on Reddit the other day. It clearly resonates for any of those who have school kids…

It has ALWAYS been interpreted in a thoroughly racist fashion. Witness how rapidly California instituted strict gun control when the Black Panthers took up arms.

The only way out of the madness of gun violence is for the federal government to declare the National Rifle Association a global terrorist organization under the Patriot Act, and arrest every member (and elected official on their payroll) including the CEOs of the gun manufacturers, seize the gun factories as assets, and once that’s all done pass meaningful gun reforms.
