Popcorn anyone?
Rep. K-Mac, who is very bad at his job, looks to have a challenger for his Precious, er, the gavel should Team Coup regain the House (with something like 1-3 seats majority):
Rep. Andy Biggs (Ariz.) late Monday announced a run for Speaker, challenging House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (Calif.) in the Republican conference’s nomination to the post.
“We have a new paradigm here, and I think the country wants a different direction from the House of Representatives. And it’s a new world, and, yes, I’m going to be nominated tomorrow to — to the position of Speaker of the House,” Biggs said on Newmax on Monday night.
“We’ll see if we can get the job done and the votes,” Biggs said. “It’s going to be tough. I mean, Kevin — Kevin has raised a lot of money and done a lot of things. But this is not just about Kevin. I think it’s about the institutional direction and trajectory.”
As you may recall, Rep. Biggs, who is the founder of the hysterically named Freedom Caucus, is noted to have participated in Jan. 6 activities:
- called Speaker of the Arizona House Russell Bowers on the morning of January 6 asking him to sign a letter calling for decertification of the Arizona electors
- voted to object to Arizona’s and Pennsylvania’s electoral votes even AFTER the Capitol was sacked on Jan. 6 2021, joining 146 House Republicans
- asked Hair Füror for a presidential pardon for his activities related to the certification of the vote
And then the big guns come out a-blazing:
So, a rock-solid choice for the Republicans to make between K-Mac and this Biggs clown, and I’m worried I won’t have enough popcorn.
Andy Biggs does know whacko wrangling…he was House speaker in AZ during the teabagger years, but the slapfight between Beavis and Margie 3 Toes is going to be fuuuun!

It’d be more fun if we didn’t have to pay each of them over $100k a year to do it.

That’s a Debbie-Downer thing to say. Not my intent, and I’m sorry.
