That’s one of the reasons why I love dogs: they’re easy. 😁

On the other hand, there’s one area where our two dogs (pibble mixes) definitely do not like to be touched: their feet. It makes getting their nails trimmed… well, let’s just say that WWE wrestlers would go down in defeat trying to wrestle with them. Our 5yo pibble hates it so much, in fact, that she sounds like her head is being sawed off with a butter knife if someone tries to do it, so we have to have her sedated to get it done. (She’s a rescue with major anxiety issues due to past trauma, poor girl, so she needs sedation even for a vet visit, shots, blood draws, etc. When that happens, the vet also trims her nails, so it’s a twofer.)

    • Our dear departed Cicely (who we think was a ridgeback mix) was the same. One time she tore one of her nails right up in the quick and we had to take her to the vet to get it taken care of. They took her into the back to do this and soon after there came the most blood-curdling howl of pain you have ever heard.

When the vet came back he said “That wasn’t when we cut it, that was when we reached for her foot.”
