Recreational marijuana could be legal in half the country if the handful of states with cannabis measures on ballots this November pass them.
Arkansas, Maryland, Missouri, North Dakota and South Dakota have measures on their ballots this fall for voters to consider legalizing recreational marijuana. They would join 19 states and the District of Columbia with recreational cannabis.
And as an aside, if I lived in any of those states, I’d need to be stoned. But I digest… Living here in the first state that legalized it, I can say that it needs to be legalized at the federal level so that these businesses are not all-cash. The only criminality around the pot shops here are the armed robberies because they are not allowed to use banks, and they cannot deposit the buckets of cash that they are making because of the Just Say No To Drugs laws of the Reagan era. It sets up a perfect storm.
This. Even the legal Bandits ” Badges? Why yes we have steenking badges!” are in on the act https://reason.com/2022/01/18/kansas-and-california-cops-used-civil-forfeiture-to-stage-armored-car-heists-stealing-money-earned-by-licensed-marijuana-businesses/
Proving once again the police are just another criminal gang.

Here in IL, we are allowed to use credit cards to purchase weed. Our dispensary is more than happy to accept tax dollars from all of those out-of-state cars in the parking lot as well. (mostly TN & KY) Kind of ironic since I’ve always heard that weed is KY’s #1 cash crop.

My local one just started accepting debit cards. Would be nice if they accepted CC’s.

I thought that Washington tied with Colorado. It’s why the 2014 Superbowl (Super bowl XLVIII) between the Seahawks and the Broncos was colloquially referred to as the Weed Bowl.
