CNN Is The Worst

Breaking CNN!

Jake Tapper tries to lead the witness:

Did you get the “’Some Say,’ Some Said” in that last question?

Again, I am not a pundit, and I try to stay away from international politics, but even a dummy like me can see that Biden is trying to create a pressure campaign to both undermine Putin and give more spine to our NATO allies. Deterring a war is often about getting public opinion on your side and I would say that’s what Biden is doing, successfully, and not making allies go wobbly.

Sen. Murphy got it exactly right: this is on Putin, not on us.

  1. The “Lets just give Hitler Putin what he wants and let him take Czechoslovakia Ukraine, and surely he’ll be satisfied and settle down” Neville Chamberlain takes are getting hotter and hotter.

Long, long ago, I worked with a bunch of other wiseguys ‘n’ gals on a mock history of the 1980s (as though pub’d in 1990, but really published in 1980). It was modeled after the Time/Life books about decades. And one thing my colleagues pointed out was the “some say/but many think” house style: What “some say” was a token acknowledgment of the WRONG take. “But many think” was what the wise men (sic) at Time/Life thought.

I’m just glad that the good Senator is a democrat, and want to congratulate him on his thoughtful answers (unlike the guys from the GQP), and for not stumbling into Tapper’s obvious traps. No, I don’t expect Armageddon, but Poo-tin is a dangerous man, so we must proceed with a measure of caution…

The MSM has questioned Democrats and feared republicans for several decades now.

World affairs are a strange thing. Reality seems to be suspended at least temporarily. Russia is trying to kill Ukraine, we are arming Ukraine to stomp Russia. In effect, we are fighting there but just not quite with bodies so it isn’t “world war”. Russia can look the other way while we equip the Ukrainians with all kinds of modern US weapons. Basically, in a way, Ukraine is fighting in our place but we can’t say that because it would be true. If we fought the Russians directly we might win, but at what cost?
    Crazy days and pretzel logic.
It’s quite the “game” we have going there.
