I didn’t understand the significance of the salute, I thought it was some sort of ersatz Nazi thing. The NYTimes is here to school us:
Former President Donald Trump appeared to more fully embrace QAnon on Saturday, playing a song at a political rally in Ohio that prompted attendees to respond with a salute in reference to the cultlike conspiracy theory’s theme song.
As Mr. Trump spoke, scores of people in the crowd raised fingers in the air in an apparent reference to the ‘1’ in what they thought was the song’s title. It was the first time in the memory of some Trump aides that such a display had occurred at one of his rallies.
Remember Aaron Rupar talking about the weird music? Yup, it was about Q. That orange moron has gone full Q-spiracy, or is at least stoking it.

He’s losing support from the slightly mentally impaired, who were his last voting block. Now all he really can count on is the totally mentally impaired to listen to and then vote for him. Not surprising then that he turns to the fringes like the Q balls. Anything for another camp follower and maybe a few more bucks in grift. He is so low, his shoe sole is blocking his sunlight.
Will we ever be free of this disgusting nightmare? Seriously.

Somehow, I doubt he’s embracing the Qult because he believes in it. On the contrary, the only things he believes in are money and status, and the Qult is merely another mark to fleece in order to achieve those goals.

Their slogan is “Where We Go One, We Go All.” Hence the raised single digit. I think watching Trump pretend to be Q will be a hoot. He’s too stupid to pull it off. As Fran Liebowitz said, “You don’t know anyone as stupid as Trump. You just don’t.”
Whether the faithful will notice is another matter.

For decades Manson’s “faithful” thought they were being ‘treated unfairly.’ Koresh’ “faithful” didn’t understand he was leading them to death until he did. Jim Jones’ “faithful” didn’t begin to wonder if something was amiss until they were made to drink the kool-aid at gunpoint.
IS there a line of no return? How long ago did we cross it?, ’cause this really looks like a rubicon to me.
