Trump Filing technique at Merde-a-Lardo

A federal judge today accepted twice-impeached LOSER ex-Prznint Stupid’s request for a special master to review evidence seized by the FBI during the Merde-a-Lardo search.

See the 24-page decision.

Marcy Wheeler had a twitter thread earlier taking apart the judge’s order. There’s a lot there.

And Popehat has a long thread saying not to freak out… so much. You can compare and contrast.

As for me, well, I think this is bad, but I’m not a lawyer. I still think she doesn’t have jurisdiction or standing (as I understand it) to process this request. What worries me as she is in the very conservative 11th District, it could go  to a panel of three of them and be upheld; it would then go to the Supremes and Clarence Thomas is the 11th circuit yay or nay for SCOTUS to hear it. The injunction could grow old in that case.

Or, as one wag on Twitter put it:

This is a mess if it stands.

This only covers the search – hopefully they have enough from the stuff Trump turned over before to indict him (if they want to). Apparently (excuse me if I read this here), he sent some classified files with the stuff the National Archives requested, which they did not ask for and did not expect. That might be what got the DoJ involved in this matter.

I guess it makes sense in this current hellish age of post-facts/truthfulness etc., judges, especially conservative ones, look at our antiquated laws and make sh*t up to justify their twisted, if not juvenile opinions based on inconsistent logic. FFS

In a just world, this judge will receive an epic smackdown for exceeding her authority and interfering with the enforcement of critical national security legislation. I can’t imagine this being upheld, but then again, with this SCOTUS, who knows?
