Depends upon how the media frame it
Axios morning email thingie has some smart brevity about the New Civil War (all weird formatting is theirs, including enigmatic bullet usage):
An intelligence bulletinfrom the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security warns of a surge in threats to federal officials and buildings following the search of former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence.
- The agencies “have identified multiple articulated threats and calls for the targeted killing of judicial, law enforcement, and government officials associated with the Palm Beach search, including the federal judge who approved the Palm Beach search warrant,” the bulletin says, according to CBS News and other outlets.
Threats include “a so-called dirty bomb in front of FBI Headquarters and … general calls for ‘civil war’ and ‘armed rebellion,'” with mentions of specific “targets, tactics, or weaponry,” the bulletin adds.
And what’s missing, you ask? One word:
REPUBLICAN
This is amazing that an article about Right Wing Domestic Terrorism fails to mention the right wing.
NBC did the exact same thing. As did all the other when I googled this story.
Of course, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that the threats are coming from the Right, but as Bill Moyers used to say, the facts can lead a good reporter to a conclusion. These threats are not happening in a vacuum, someone(s) are making them, and you know, who are they? REPUBLICANS.
They didn’t even say “far right.”

They’re laying the groundwork for the new “Lost Cause”, at best. At worst they’re complicit in bringing on a Fascist takeover of the United States.

Don’t ever let them try to use law and order as a shield, ever again. They are for anything except.

I’ll read Axios for filth as well as the next man. But this is the part where the Democrats step up and says the word, “Republican”. I’m not going to blame the media too much for that cowardice.

No, that gives the media it’s out letting them label Dems as ‘partisan’ calling out Republicans as ‘extreme’, like it’s normal politicking. That preserves the media’s reflexive ‘bothsides’ stance.
THEY have to start acknowledging that the GOP’s headlong rush into fascism is just that.
