Please Forgive Us For The Intrusion On Your Weekend…

…as you curate your retrospective of the films of Ishirô Honda for the cineastes in your hamlet, what with having finally found a copy of Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine (do you lead with that or conclude with that?), but we would be remiss if we did not alert you that our pal Burr Deming has posted his best-of-the-web links complete with wry commentary at the essential blog Fair and Unbalanced.

We will of course keep this post on top and fresher posts —if any!— will be below.

Ah, the 60’s. At the movies: Zombies, UFOs /the inhabitants, & Beach Blanket Bimbos., ah, Girls !!
I always leaned toward the UFO ones. More realistic.

Well, I remember a couple of UFO films from the 50s that were hideous: “The Giant Claw” (1957) and “The Atomic Submarine” (1959). You couldn’t even say they were so bad they were good.

Of course, one could say that of “Plan 9 from Outer Space.”

Darn you, Tengrain! Darn you to heck! Now I WANT to watch “Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine” and can’t find it ANYWHERE! Okay, it’s on Amazon, but you have to pay for that! How is that even fair?!?

Man. What is Ma Belle Femme going to say when she sees the $3.99 charge show up on the credit card bill? Darn you, Tengrain, and all you spitballers!
