45 Took The 5th on the 10th

Making America Dumb Again

If you can believe it, Citizen Hair Füror exercised his fifth Amendment Rights yesterday! He answered only one question: “What is your name?” and it was the Fifth from there on!

“I once asked, ‘If you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?’ Now I know the answer to that question,” Trump said in a statement released by his post-presidential office. “When your family, your company, and all the people in your orbit have become the targets of an unfounded, politically motivated Witch Hunt supported by lawyers, prosecutors, and the Fake News Media, you have no choice.”

That is, of course, utter BS. If you are not guilty you can answer all the questions truthfully. And we are reminded that in Civil cases (at least in some places including NY) that the jury is instructed that they can take into account declining to answer a question.

For example, it could have been like this:

Prosecutor: “Did you inflate your property values when talking to banks and deflate them when talking to tax collectors?”

Lord Damp Nut: “Absolutely not.”

Prosecutor: “Arrest this orange motherfucker for perjury!”

Or it coulda been like this:

Prosecutor: “Did you inflate your property values when talking to banks and deflate them when talking to tax collectors?”

Lord Damp Nut: “You bet I did, and I’d do it again!”

Prosecutor: “Arrest this orange motherfucker for tax evasion!”

Instead, it was like this:

Prosecutor: “Did you inflate your property values when talking to banks and deflate them when talking to tax collectors?”

Lord Damp Nut: “Fifth”

Prosecutor: Let the record show that he did not answer.

Now, we’re not one to pit father against  son, but Twizzler pleaded 5th 500 times, so Daddy’s reported 440 doesn’t get the family trophy.

Trump is suggesting that he took the Fifth to protect others. That is a common use of the Fifth, but I don’t think it is legal. You can only use it to avoid incriminating yourself. Naturally, it could be both – you’re protecting someone else and yourself, in which case it’s OK.

So where did he stand on the 5th before he took it??? He’s just trying to cover his wide ass…

If only the terminology for this was ‘giving the 5th’ rather than ‘taking the 5th’ the TFG would not have been able to do it. We all know that TFG is all TAKE and no GIVE.
