Just noting for reference that the DOJ has a pretty ironclad rule about a quiet period in the 90 days before the election. No indictments or anything else until November. The search warrant got in just under the wire. That means, just like the Mueller Report, the actual facts won’t come out for months. That means the Rs have free reign in framing and deflecting, again, just like the Mueller Report. When the damning facts come out, just like the damning facts in the Mueller Report, they probably won’t make any difference.
Garland has his built in excuse. Criminey, sometimes I’m convinced he’s the main DOJ mole.

While true, I’ll remind the class that 1) 2022 is not 2024, and that Trump is not on any ballot this year, and B) Comey broke the rule in 2016, so there is precedence, and iii) it is a practice, not a law.
All that said, I’m still convinced that Trump will never be charged, and if charged will never be prosecuted, and if prosecuted will never be convicted, and if convicted will never spend a moment in prison.
There’s different rules for the rich and powerful than there are for the rest of us, and while cynical, I know that to be true.
