It Passed!

This is a big, eff’ing deal.

It now goes to the house which will be back in session next Friday for final passage, and then to the White House to be signed into law.

I’m glad it passed, but I’d be even more gladerer if the D’s had told the parliamentarian to perform a sexual act on herself while shoving her out the door, rather than give up on the insulin cap. (Moscow Mitch would’ve gladly done it and not lost a wink of sleep over it.) Lots of great stuff here, and I’m certainly not minimizing that, but keeping the insulin cap would’ve been a nice decorative flower atop the icing on the cake.

So the effers (you, the 50 member Death Panel), made a deal (effed the diabetics), then knew they wouldn’t have to vote for the bill to pass (VP tie breaker doncha know), so that they’d uphold at least the appearance of being effers. Mission Accomplished.

    (D) – You’re going to kick me in the nuts anyway
    (R) – True
    (D) – OK, here you go.

I mean, great job getting something, but giving up on an issue that is so important is a bit baffling. I suppose they intend to use it as a cudgel in the next election, but something shiny will no doubt distract them, and we’ll snatch defeat right out of the jaws of victory. Good times.

Manchinema actually voted for it? In an election year? Damn. McConnell’s going to take their keys to the republican washroom.

I expect to hear the R’s beating the drums about D’s not caring about diabetic’s needs.

You can get on an update list so you can be notified when insulin becomes available on his site. No idea why it isn’t available yet. I suspect threats are involved.
