And now we turn to Ginni Thomas because we must. Into every life a little rain must fall, and with the Thomases, well, it’s bucketing down on us. Axios’ email thingie (all formatting and enigmatic bullet usage is theirs):

Vice Chair Liz Cheney told Jake Tapper on CNN’s “State of the Union” that the committee might subpoena Ginni Thomas, a conservative activist and wife of Justice Clarence Thomas, who corresponded with Trump officials about overturning the 2020 election.

  • “The committee is engaged with her counsel,” Cheney said. “We certainly hope that she will agree to come in voluntarily. But the committee is fully prepared to contemplate a subpoena if she does not.”

Thomas’ lawyer has already said Ginni ain’t coming.

Oh, and there’s this little bit of comic relief: Ginni’s lawyer was trying to invoke judicial privilege. The lawyer apparently thinks that Ginni is on the #IllegitimateSCOTUS, just as Ginni does too, also.

So get the ol’ process server warmed up and limber, as they will have to get past the Thomas’ security detail that Congress so obligingly approved.

    So, fomenting insurrection and plotting a coup is the privilege of SC judges?

    Where is that included in the constitution?

      Maybe it’s a variation on a person not being required to testify against her spouse. Her husband is a judge so presto abra kadavra – judicial privilege.
      Or is it supposed to make actual sense?

    The Republican narrative around Ginni Thomas is fascinating. See, it doesn’t matter that she concocted the alternate elector slate plot with Eastman, her husband’s protégé, because Ginni is a crackpot and people only listen to her because she has access to a supreme court judge. Oh, but also, her conservative activism is totally unrelated to Clarence Thomas and the two never even discuss it.

    This from the same people who think that Biden must have been coordinating with his estranged son to take bribes from Ukraine, which something something Vince Foster.

    I’m old enough to remember when Justice Ginni said she would be happy to testify before the J6C.

    I wonder, since she is clearly being represented by legal counsel, if service of the subpoena on her legal representative will be considered legally sufficient.
