We are only bringing this up because, well, Republicans don’t think women should have the right to travel anymore:
So why is it important for women to be able to cross state lines, fleeing Possum Hollar to seek medical help, you ask? An estimated 30% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage, and the methods of managing a miscarriage are the same as abortion.
- In Wisconsin, a woman bled for more than 10 days from an incomplete miscarriage afterER doctors would not remove the fetal tissue because of the confusing “legality” of the procedure.
- An OB-GYN in Texas reported that doctors are delaying induced miscarriages in women with severe pregnancy complications until the women seem “sick enough,” due to fear of law enforcement.
- Doctors in Texas, which has a total 6-week abortion ban with no exceptions for rape or incest, report that pharmacists have begun questioning patients about miscarriage medications, suspecting they may be used instead for abortions.
Vote them out. There is no such thing as a good Republican. And yes, Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger voted with the rest of the GOP to ban women from traveling for abortions.
When traveling to another state to get an abortion, make sure to have a brochure for a gun show that is taking place in the state you are going to. When they stop you at the border you just tell them that you aren’t crossing state line to get an abortion, you are just crossing state lines to buy guns. Then they will be all smiles and They’ll wave you right through.

It would be helpful to have a few anti-antifa brochures so they think they know why you’re buying the guns…

That would be less helpful for persons of colour than you might imagine. /s
Given your history of insightful remarks, of course you can easily imagine the outcome. It’s a really sad commentary that such a strategy would be met with either open arms or violent hostility with no middle ground.

Dang the bad luck. Now republicans are going to have to redefine Interstate Commerce and somehow convince the populace that seeking an abortion at a for-profit business is not commerce.

Nope, they’ll rely on Dobbs- abortion isn’t in the Constitution because Women weren’t mentioned in the Constitution, therefore women’s movement- be it planes trains or automobile IS CURRENTLY BEING REGULATED!
Australian traveler questioned about abortion at US Customs
Utah mother and daughter questioned about travel plans when pulled over for exceeding the speed limit by 5 mph
Walgreens staff refusing to fill bc prescriptions or sell condoms
GOP publicly and frequently stroking their misogynistic rage boners everywhere you look.

I will vote, of course, but getting old and dying seems to be the last best hope of escape.

That is sad and i feel this way often. But as a survivor, i feel it is my duty to keep going as long as i can. My plan is to resist these Republicans or whatever they are until my last breath.
Meanwhile, i am a treehugging amateur botanist, and i spend way too much time saying “Hey don’t kill that critter! Use your intelligence!”
