JD Vance, authentic Hedgefund Hillbilly from Yale (Allegedly)

Billionaire Peter Thiel’s hand-picked millionaire Ohio Senate Candidate, JD Vance (the Hillbilly effigy, Yalie investment banker and hedge-fund manager with credibility problems) continues to, uh, leave an impression:

JD Vance compared abortion to slavery in an interview last fall, drawing a controversial parralel between America’s original sin and a procedure that until recently was a constitutional right.

“There’s something comparable between abortion and slavery, and that while the people who obviously suffer the most are those subjected to it, I think it has this morally distorting effect on the entire society,” Vance, the GOP nominee for an open Ohio Senate seat, said in an interview with the Catholic Current last October.

Vance then referenced Abraham Lincoln’s quote “I would not be a slave, so I would not be a master,” before arguing that because of abortion, many Americans have “begun to see children as inconveniences to be discarded, instead of blessings to cherish.”

“I really think abortion has really done something very socially destructive to us as people in how we see the most vulnerable and the most dependent among us,” Vance continued. “I think that’s one of the underappreciated facts about abortion. It’s really distorted our entire society.”

Comparing chattel slavery to anything is incomprehensible, but this is really strange and insulting stuff. I don’t know how any woman could consider supporting this dude, let alone any Black Americans.

    This seems backwards.
Doesn’t being forced to keep something you never intended to get (a child) even though you cannot afford to take care of it properly, even if it was forced on you, even if it threatens your life to have it seem more likely to cause people to look for ways to “discard the inconvenience”?
Okay, let’s look for the projection and confession – many republicans see democratic principles, like one person one vote, as an inconvenience to be discarded. I mean, look at how far we’ve been yanked down their rabbit hole by discarding those principles rather than cherishing them.

I do. Hate, self-loathing, stupidity, manipulation, etc.

When republicans resort to metaphors there’s a curtain somewhere nearby with a man pulling levers behind it. The man behind the curtain is Satan himself. This BS is pure evil.

Slavery is not being able to determine your own life and having to serve your “masters” regardless of your health or desires. The ancestors of these men were Confederate supporters and they intend to continue slavery as long as they can, then they resort to police murder and school to prison systems to keep the slaves in order. Women are never fully human in their minds and not deserving of any rights beyond the right to lay down, take it, and produce more victims for their oppressors. Betsy DeVos is waiting in the wings to sell the WHITE babies to the highest Christian bidders this time. The babies of color have little worth beyond working for sub pay and being target practice for the police.

Typical rethug. He’s got it all ass-backward. Anti-abortion is like slavery. Denying women authority over their own bodies. That was a sign of slavery. As usual, another rethug for reeducation, or was he ever educated to begin with?
