      Yep. And president Obama, who is no doubt gifted with giving great speeches, acted like a shocked and scared wimp for failing to use his ‘bully pulpit’ to call out cocaine mitch for pulling some archaic, bullsh*t bylaw out of his filthy, flabby ass that left the SC position vacant.

        And just what the fuck was he supposed to do? What the fuck were any of us supposed to do? It’s not like Obama had some Green Lantern power to bend reality to his will.

        McConnell held all the cards, the table, the house and the chips. He could do whatever the fuck he wanted, and no one could do a damned thing about it. Same thing whe he jacked Bony Carrot through a week before the fuckign election and he was laughing in our faces the whole time, because he knew there wasn’t a goddamn thing anyone could do.

        He could because the Republicans have waged a concentrated assault on democracy for the last fifty fucking years while the Democratic voters showed up every four years, maybe…

        We HAD a solution in front of us for McConnell’s fuckery, [belushi/]but Nooooo, [/belushi] Too many people couldn’t be arsed to vote for Hillary, or vote at fucking all in 2016, which would have prevented this thing she told us would fucking happen if trump got in.

    I fear for my friends within the LGBT community that today’s ruling is just the wicked start of a series of overturning laws like Oberfell and Hodges as well as Loving vs. Virginia. Fuck the religious right!

    I fear that these throwback, theocratic SCOTUS justices have just placed Captain America’s shield-sized targets on their backs. I honestly would not be surprised to start hearing about attempted assassinations of SCOTUS justices (which, ironically, they’ve made easier with their recent gun rulings). Bad times are coming, and I believe there will be bloodshed, I can almost guarantee it.

    Here are two comments I made over at TPM:

    It is a genuinely disgraceful decision issued by a radical right-wing, utterly politicized Court.

    Moscow Mitch can be proud that he has:

    1. Grievously damaged the Senate as an institution by abusing and breaking the SCOTUS nomination process based on naked partisanship, in a way I consider unconstitutional itself;

    2. Also destroyed for at least a generation (if not permanently) the legitimacy of the Supreme Court as a fair and impartial adjudicator of constitutional rights – I view the current court with utter contempt; and

    3. Even further divided our society and polity.

    It is a sad day indeed for our country when, for the first time in our history, a personal constitutional right is taken away from its citizens.

    with this decision and the “historical” analysis in the latest (no) gun control decision, we see the paradigm: bullshit historical references and RWNJ cherrypicking that the Court will use to establish its present version of “the good old days.” MAGA in judicial robes, with no “checks” whatsoever.

    Think of it as judicial fascism. The “least dangerous branch” has become the most dangerous one to personal safety, autonomy, and freedom in this country.

    We are in deep shit as US citizens now. Hell, my friends in Ireland enjoy more rights and safety as citizens now than I do.

    It has begun: In Concurring Opinion, Justice Clarence Thomas Writes Court ‘Should Reconsider’ Rulings Legalizing Gay Marriage and Birth Control

    It seems quite possible that gay militants may actually become a thing. Can’t wait to read the wording of the laws that keep guns out of the hands of women and gays.

    Maybe this horrible ruling will get the DNC along with congressional dims to finally 86 the Clinton’s and their lackeys like Paul begalia and James Carville from giving such outdated advice on how to choose milquetoast candidates and their centrist views opting instead for Howard dean’s 50-state strategy and candidates under the age of 60 with ‘fire in the belly’ to no after morally bankrupt and hypocritical republicans.

    Time to build back bigger and better … and I mean the courts as well as legislation. Hell, we could expand abortion rights to abort those that take away rights … post-birth abortions for defective repubs. Dare to dream, now’s the time. Also, the above pic never ceases to bother me in that it demonizes the baby, not the rapist. The babies are always innocent, always.
