Stupid Coup Update: Mo Brooks Has Time On His Hands, And Nothing To Lose

The Stupid Coup, part infinity

“Calling Mike Pence…”

This is interesting: Suddenly career-less Rep. Mo Brooks has decided, you know, to testify:

Rep. Mo Brooks — one of the Republican lawmakers facing calls from the January 6 committee to testify about his interactions with former President Donald Trump — said Wednesday that he is willing to testify but only in public.

“My basic requirement is it be in public so the public can see it — so they don’t get bits and pieces dribbled out,” the Alabama Republican said. He also said he’d testify only about matters related to January 6, 2021, and wants to see copies of any documents beforehand that the panel may ask him about.

Even though the House select committee announced subpoenas for Brooks and four other Republicans last month, he had yet to be served with one because he had been campaigning for the GOP Senate nomination in Alabama. Brooks lost in a runoff Tuesday night.

Motor-mouth Mo might have a few things to say about why he was wearing body armor while giving a speech before the riots (for instance). World’s Worst Chess player Hair Füror —who cannot think of one move in advance— might regret throwing ol’ Mo under the bus just because he wanted a win to increase his king maker image.

FYI, the Jan 6 Hearings will continue today. Today’s topic is how Hair Füror pressured the DOJ to help him overthrow the gubmint.

The House January 6 Committee will pause hearings after today and schedule more in July, based in part on new evidence that has come to light just since the public-hearing phase of the investigation began.

Sadly related: Lawmakers on Jan. 6 committee ramp up their security as threats increase

I loathe Mo Brooks as a traitor and piece of shit, but if he can shower himself over the Orange Asshole it will please me greatly.

The hope is that all the “people” who were thrown under the bus by the Trumps will be coming forward to tell all they know. The list must be a long and winding road of “people” who were dedicated to Trump but still found themselves under the bus rear wheels for petty reasons.
Note: The current talking point during testimony, after they have divulged the illegal thing that Trump did, is to say “But I’d still vote for him for President.”

Editor’s note: the use of the word ‘people’ in the comment above is done so in the broadest use of the term.
