“Calling Mike Pence…”
This is why we cannot have nice things: Rusty Bowers, the Speaker of the House in the Terrible Sand Kingdom of Arizonastan, the guy who testified so effectively yesterday? He’d vote for Trump again.
It’s a cult. More over at Drifty’s place.
If they are still Republicans, they vote their conscience in the Primary and their Party in the General. It’s James Baker’s 8th Rule for Running Washington.

Absolutely. One should ALWAYS ALWAYS presume if the letters after the name are (R Arizona) that the person is a soulless fascist fuck. Rusty was just afraid (understandably) of what would happen if he tried to wrangle the AZ lege through the clusterfuck of a shitstorm of a prison riot that would ensue had he tried to do what Mango Mussolini wanted him to do. The Republicans only have a single seat edge in the state house and two in the senate. All it takes is one asshole to monkeywrench anything they try.
He’d have ended up will all sides screaming for his head.
All you need to know about him is he thinks that “Aside from COVID Trump did good things for the country”

Something tells me the chances of the next coup attempt succeeding are very high, whether or not it’s cheetolini or some other fascist fuck.

And just yesterday, people from both sides of the aisle were slobbering all over him after his testimony, like they were doing before with the Walking Termite Buffet™. Are we on the left so determined to find a “hero” in all this that we keep ignoring history over and over again? sigh

I find it a tad bit ironic that Bowers was one of five recipients of this year’s John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage award for his refusal to consider overturning the 2020 election results. Even more ironic if he said the above when he received the reward
I suppose we should consider ourselves lucky that they’re doing all this in public.
