Report: Insurrectionist Popular Candidate in Michigan

H/T Scissorhead Skinny-D

The world is a strange place and Michigan seems to be stranger than most. Or at least Michigan Republicans:

Republican gubernatorial candidate Ryan Kelley’s recent arrest by the FBI for his suspected involvement in the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol appears to have boosted his name recognition and favorability among GOP voters in Michigan, new polling conducted in the days following his arrest indicates.

Oh, come-on! Really? Well, yeah:

And as polling indicates, the arrest has helped Kelley drum up name recognition and favorability from some voters, Porn said.

“I can’t see how it didn’t have an impact,” said [EPIC-MRA pollster Bernie Porn]. “At 23% non-recognition, he is in much better recognition shape than anybody else. His favorability numbers are much, much higher at 39 (%).”

Kelley has pointed to the arrest as a boon for his campaign, claiming it separates him from the rest of the pack.

“The other candidates are garden-variety crooks, “ Kelley didn’t say, “But me? I’m big time!”

    TBH I’m not surprised.

They elected a sexual predator and con man to be president.

It’s not going to be long before someone realizes the path to ultimate power in the GQP is to be the scum of the earth.

We’ll find out if he’s a professional when we find out what he spends his campaign funds on.

We have three main political parties in the U.S. now. I wish they would just split, already, and make it official. I think they are fighting over the house name right now, but they should just get on with it already.
