What Will It Take?

H/T Scissorhead Bruce388

Miah’s lived experience —having to disguise herself by smearing her friends blood on herself— to survive an attack on herself and her classmates is of no consequence to the Republicans.

So what will it take for ghoulish Republicans to enact meaningful gun-safety laws, so that Americans can stop burying elementary school students in tiny superhero themed caskets?  Seriously, what will it take?

If Republicans, you know, actually cared about children —or the sanctity of human life as much as they hysterically claim to do as they strip women of the Constitutional rights for abortion— gun control legislation would have already passed.

Sadly, conservatives don’t care about kids (or adults) —as much as they care about guns.

That’s why a bill that passed in the House yesterday has no hope of survival in the antiquated and useless Senate, and the bill currently being negotiated in the Senate does NOT include an assault weapons ban, enhanced background checks, or restrictions on high-capacity ammunition magazines. The Senate bill is a complete surrender to the in-the-minority Republicans and their complicity in the slaughter. It does not have anything in it that will slow-down or stop the slaughter.

Failing America’s kids is  how we are now a point where an 11-year-old school-shooting survivors like Miah Cerrillo have to testify before Congress in an attempt to attempt to convince lawmakers to stop letting random sociopaths murder small children so Possum Hollar can cling to their guns.

Remember this.

UPDATE 1: Tiger Beat’s email thingie –

BERN NOTICE — Sen. BERNIE SANDERS (I-Vt.) has a blunt warning for Dems: “Without a course correction, he sees the Democratic Party on track to get shellacked this fall,” Burgess Everett writes. “As the progressive Vermonter, not one to mince words, put it in an interview on Tuesday: ‘You really can’t win an election with a bumper sticker that says: “Well, we can’t do much, but the other side is worse.”’

UPDATE 2: From Tiger Beat’s other email thingie:

BERNIE, TAKE THE WHEELSen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) isn’t trying to Bern down the Democrats midterm strategy, but he has some candid suggestions and doesn’t think lighting a fire under his colleagues can hurt. In an interview with Burgess, he broke down where he thinks Dems are wrong and his prescription for trying to turn it around. And he’s happy to turn the spotlight on his centrist colleagues in the Democratic caucus who have held up the Democrats legislative agenda time and time again.

“Say to the American people: ‘Look, we don’t have the votes to do it right now. We have two corporate Democrats who are not going to be with us,” Sanders said. “The leadership has got to go out and say we don’t have the votes to pass anything significant right now. Sorry. You got 48 votes. And we need more to pass it. That should be the message of this campaign.”

UPDATE 3: March For Our Lives protest marches are this weekend. Here’a a handy tool to find one near you.

I saw that video yesterday, it made me weep because of the pain and trauma she and they suffered. The Republicans are (in toto) heartless bastards, who don’t give a damn about the kids. The only way out is to elect more Democrats. For all their faults, they are still the party that is connected to the people…

19% voted in this latest election here in Ca. That’s not a winning proposition for a bigger election.

Unless there’s some sort of major event [False Flag Operation?] that somehow unites the country, I’m afraid it’s going to take a Civil War.

Freedom doesn’t mean protection against having your very life stolen from you. Not to that crew. It means “I’m free to do whatever I want. You’re free to follow orders.”
