Colorado Candidate Wants Fellow Christian On Ticket

Kiss Jeebus on the lips.

More from Greg Lopez, theocratic Republican candidate for Colorado Governor:

Choosing your lieutenant governor is one of the most serious decisions that a governor makes out of the chute—a candidate. So I’m looking for someone that not only believes in my Lord and Savior the way I do, but also that… should something happen to me—because, really, that’s why you’re selecting the lieutenant governor—is that if something should happen to me, and I’m not able to fulfill my term, that they are able to carry on the agenda. The agenda that the people truly embrace.

In other words, Lopez doesn’t think Jews, Muslims, well, anyone other than a Christian, could/should lead the state.

  1. Bet he claims he just luuuurrrrves the US Constitution second only to the Bible he’s never read, either:

Constitution, Article VI specifies that “no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.”

I blame the god-botherers from Regan’s day for all this hubbub. It seems to me that JFK went thru heck because he was, heaven forbid, a Catholic, what happened to those days? We don’t need or want excessively religious people in government. But just try to get that word out among the people.

But not only a Christian, but a ” someone that not only believes in my Lord and Savior the way I do, … they are able to carry on the agenda.” So, the LG candidate has to be the same type of Christian as the gov. candidate. Yikes. Shades of GW choosing GFY, except with church.
