Electoral Vote
This country’s government is done as we know it if the bar of statesmanship, wisdom and respectability is measured by asking bush the dumber his ‘hot takes’ on current foreign policy issues, some issues that he helped to screw up in the first place.

TFG was NEVER the disease, TFG was the symptom, of the party that wore Purple Heart bandaids to deride John Kerry’s actual combat record in the Vietnam ware against Shrub’s brief tenure in the Champagne Squadron defending the Texas Border from commies, before deserting to pursue his political career.
This bitch, for example, whom I’m sure is a fervent MAGAt today.

Your post underscores a real causal conundrum of our national decline. Are we turning fascist because of the brutal, racist stupidity of “the average white voter,” or the seditious ambitions of the politicians who pander to them? Both are to blame, of course, but I find it hard to decide which I loathe more.

The Nazis could not have come to power without the brutal thugs who supported them and the oligarchs who chased the profits. In this case the mob has seized the power; I don’t think many of those politicians are pandering so much as true believers.

That was 22 years and most of a pandemic ago. And she’s probably a red-stater. Odds are that she’s dead by now.

Three DesertRat household takes, in rapid succession after playing that…
Me:“That’s not a Freudian slip! That’s a Freudian Slip-and-fall scam at Piggly Wiggly”
Mrs BDR:“That’s not so much a Freudian slip, that’s Freudian Mormon Underwear”
Me:* “That’s not a Freudian slip, That’s Freudian Crotchless Underwear”*
Mrs BDR: Rude gesture directed at me as she tried not to snort some coffee out her nose.

So Iraq and the Ukraine are the same? Well both were victims of an unrestrained super power. In Iraq’s case it was about Saddam trying to kill the elder Bush and young George wanted revenge, nevermind that around a million innocent Iraqis died. In the Ukraine, the death toll may be higher, but Ukraine seems to winning their struggle, all for Poo Tin’s enfeebled attempt to make Russia great again. I’m so tired of this crap…

You give W way too much credit. If it had anything to do with his old man, my money is on the oil connection, and his old man’s connections from his previous job.

“The decision of one man to launch a wholly unjustified and brutal invasion of Iraq” … Bush obviously was talking about Cheney (Vladimir Putin version 0.8)!

Dear Madison Cawthorn. A hand job with your buddy is just fine. We also do that here. But if you are going to run around with these Republicans, if you are going to turn into a total asshole, if you have forgotten your people, you got exactly what you deserve . Don’t be telling me how hard it is to be in a wheelchair. I already know. You have been a liar and a selfish man. Because you are so young , i expect better from you in the future.

Don’t set yourself up to be disappointed. They generally just get meaner with age and disappointment.
