Happy Hour News

“For ME?!”
Joe Manchin’s demands must be met!

As expected, the Senate failed to pass legislation to codify abortion rights into law. The vote was 49—51, and you’ll never guess which Democrat opposed the measure:

Senate blocks bill to codify right to abortion; GOP, Manchin oppose measure

Did ya guess?

“This question will not go away,” Schumer said Wednesday before the vote. “Americans strongly oppose getting rid of Roe, and they will be paying close attention from now until November to Republicans who are responsible for its demise.”

No duh.

  1. “GOP, Manchin block measure”

Doesn’t the AP guide have something to say about redundancy?

I would like to say “I told you so,” but as always was hoping a Repub or two to cross the aisle, because Manchin was a given no (never). So not one did that—sigh. Just gonna drop this off…

I miss Howard Dean Dean”s 50-state strategy. We have to push the fascists back everywhere.

We can all thank Obama for killing that winning strategy in favor his own presidency. Having Rahm Emanuel and Debbie Schultz run the grassroots portion of the DNC into the ground in favor wall st. was the icing on the proverbial electoral cake.

I’m just so sick and tired of this shit. There is nothing new to say about abortion. Nothing. Nothing that hasn’t been said for the last forty years or more. A few days ago, I was rummaging through a dresser drawer in which I keep old tee-shirts and fat pants. I pulled out a purple tee with dark pink print of an outline of the USofA. Within the borders were little figures of people hunched over bicycles above and below “REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM RIDE, — WA 1991” Fck. That was THIRTY-ONE YEARS AGO.

Looks like I’ll have to start wearing that damned thing again. All for naught.

Why does Manchin even pretend he’s a Democrat? Seriously? He always votes with the GQP on the crucial issues.

He likes the attention the worthless beltway media gives him for his cowardly acts that they all claim are ‘thoughtful and pragmatic centrism.’

If a poll showed that 93% of Americans wanted to live, living would fail 49-51 in the Senate.
