Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) said a national abortion ban is “possible” if Roe v. Wade is overturned, days after a leaked majority draft opinion suggested the Court may be poised to do just that…
“If the leaked opinion became the final opinion, legislative bodies — not only at the state level but at the federal level — certainly could legislate in that area,” he said.He added: “And if this were the final decision, that was the point that it should be resolved one way or another in the legislative process. So yeah, it’s possible.”
“And if and when the court makes a final decision, I expect everybody will be more definitive,” he said. “But I don’t think it’s much secret where senator Republicans stand on that issue.”

Beyond the overturning of Roe, to me, the most disturbing part of this is how confident he is that the elections are so pre-determined that the fact they they are a dramatic minority is of no consequence. Were the Senate confirmation hearings to be held today, when asked about opinions, there would be no pretense – they would simply answer “yeah, I’ll overturn it. So fucking what? What are you going to do, cry your liberal tears? Eat shit, I’ll be over here drinking a beer and taking bundles of cash from that guy right over there.”
I mean, the honesty would be refreshing.

Don’t see wher you get that they are a ‘dramatic minority’…23 states are fully Republican controlled, and another seven have republican gontrolled legislatures but a Dem governor.
54% of all state legislators are Republicans.

David & TG, Both Great points ! There was no ? in my mind, or many others about the REAL reason behind abortion. Prohibition was saving US sinners from the Sin of alcohol.
