Even for Monsignor Ross Douthat, apostolic nuncio to 42nd Street*, If we don’t force women to remain at home and in relationships with us, they might take our jobs is a startling take.

Worth noting, Ross can’t cite any evidence for what he’s pulled out of his ass over the last 50 years. Even if he could, there may be more than one cause for these supposed outcomes. I mean, has he totally forgot about all the evil Hollywood has done with their sexy movies?

    Or:
“Worth noting that in the 50 yrs since the first female FBI agents were hired, men have become less likely to find a spouse, less likely father kids or live with the kids they father, and less likely to participate in the workforce.”

    Or:
“Worth noting that in the 50 yrs since the Pittsburgh Steelers won their first post-season NFL game, men have become less likely to find a spouse, less likely father kids or live with the kids they father, and less likely to participate in the workforce.”

    Or:
“Worth noting that in the 50 yrs since ‘The Godfather’ was released in US cinemas, men have become less likely to find a spouse, less likely father kids or live with the kids they father, and less likely to participate in the workforce.”

    Such utterly worthless twaddle

Not to mention, I crushed on a friend’s brother when he bought himself a 73 Monte Carlo. Later I bought a 76 Monte Carlo, but never did go out with the brother. So there’s that, too. Also.

  5. Honestly Ross, for a man who recounted, in public and in writing your encounter with Chunky Rese Witherspoon in college, I would most def not try to talk about why women avoid men you.
