K-Mac’s Political Machine Is Warmed Up And Ready To Kick His Ass

K-Mac’s Political Machine Hard At Work

Politics super-jenius and wannabe Speaker of the House K-Mac continues to be in the news for his incredible bonelessness (is too a wird):

Power is intoxicating, its pursuit revealing of character but sometimes debilitating; House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) is Exhibit A. In his ceaseless drive to become the next speaker of the House, he has demonstrated weakness, hypocrisy and a willingness to lie to save his skin…

After offering critical remarks about Trump on the House floor in the days after the Capitol attack, McCarthy lost his nerve. He made a pilgrimage to meet with Trump at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, the supplicant asking the monarch for forgiveness. They were photographed together, the public record of the visit Trump’s apparent punishment for the earlier criticism.

McCarthy has since been craven in bowing to Trump’s wishes, fearing that crossing the former president could compromise both his party’s hopes of capturing the majority in November’s midterm elections and his own desire to lead a Republican-controlled House next year as speaker. He also has been weak in the face of calls to discipline the most extreme members of the House GOP conference — those who have been the most loyal to Trump and his conspiracy theories, including the false claim that he won the 2020 election.

I guess he’s boned now.

The theme continues:

But this past week, McCarthy’s future as the party’s leader in the House was thrown into jeopardy after audio was released of him telling fellow Republicans in the aftermath of the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol that Trump should resign.

As McCarthy relies on Trump to help Republicans win control of the House in the November elections and seize the speaker’s gavel from San Francisco Democrat Pelosi, the year-old comments raised new questions about their relationship and McCarthy’s ability to lead a party still beholden to Trump.

“I don’t have to have the job,” McCarthy told The Associated Press in an interview last week in his district in the days before The New York Times released the audio of his 2021 remarks.

“You know, I’ve done what I’m going to do. Now, it’s really what is the legacy you leave?”

And not surprisingly, Senator Professor Warren has something smart to say:

I can agree that few Democrats show a spine, but damned if the Rethugs aren’t outright 2 faced sob’s in their own right.

Wow. He’s captured the perfect definition of republican principles.

I’m confused. Nothing new, here. In Jan.2021, Drumph was going to be POTUS non-grata soon. Why talk of impeachment & resignation at all ??
Impeachment would mean, if he lost (yea) his sweet un-deserved pension??
