That wasn’t a rebuttal, that was burning the witch at the stake. With dragon fire! So impressive!
Crooks and Liars has the transcript. (And again, I wish that they would return to the previous software that allows WordPress to embed, and not the cursed iFrame tags that are verboten, but go visit their site for a better quality experience than Twitter)
I want to say a couple of things about this: 1) Good for her! Shaking with rage and righteous indignation while delivering a barn buster is very powerful and b) This is a template for all of us who find ourselves needing to speak up.
As you guys know, I was raised with a faith, but it’s not part of who I am. And yet… I would put my deeds of service up against any performative Xristian Xrazie sanctimonious and self-serving protestations.
One does not have to be a person of faith to challenge people of faith.
As they say in basketball, you either block or charge and I think what we want to see is more Dems who charge. Find inspiration in her speech, look at her resolve and utter fearlessness as she takes on the accusations of being a groomer and a pedophile, and she just dares her opponent to try it again.
Just in: state Sen. McMorrow will be on MSNBC tonight. Destination television
WOW, and I thought PoliticsGirl gave a decent barn burning (she does in fact), but this is an epic butt kicking. I would think that being slandered would exact a legal price, and maybe it will (eventually), but I have to congratulate Sen McMorrow for standing firm, tall, and proud while delivering one of the best rebuttals I’ve ever seen…

Ooh, they call Democrats child molesters, and ONE stands up to it. A state Senator, no less.l
Over these many years (yes, I was Clean for Gene), I’ve thought about a third party for progressives many times. Sadly, both current attempts (Greens and Peoples Party) are fizzing with Russians.
The best reason for starting a real third party is that the damned Democrats won’t even put up a fight, no matter what bullshit Republicans say or do. Best case, they need one of Tucker Carlson’s charging stations. More likely, they know on which side their bread is buttered, and are collaborators doing the bidding of their paymasters.
They won’t fight for us. They won’t even fight for their own dignity. Most of them are worse than useless.

There are 208 days left. Plenty of time to prove me wrong.

I can’t prove you wrong, but I can urge you to gather your fellow local progressives, file to run for precinct committee chairs (it’s free,) use those seats to run your local Dem party, and send resolutions to your District and State parties. Show up, caucus/vote every chance you get. Change can happen, but so many people don’t know how or where to start, and the ones trying to keep things running are way burnt out. It does make a difference.
We just seem to run out of steam and people right before we could get something done, and then here come the “electable” candidates. sigh

Actually, I wasn’t, but I’m happy to see them! I was just talking about the old-timers’s way of getting candidates closer in mind to what is wanted. You know the drill; we have to do it ourselves. Every little bit helps!

Beautiful! That’s what I would call “opening a can of Whoop-ass”. People like her and the Missouri state rep the other day making it clear they’ve had enough culture war bullshit give me hope.
