News That Will Drive You To Drink

I lied. Here’s a story, too:

Overseas airlines are having to cancel hundreds of flights as they grapple with coronavirus-related staffing shortages weeks after they ditched rules requiring passengers and staff to mask up in the air.

The disruptions also come as the CEOs of leading U.S. airlines urge the Biden administration to roll back a federal rule requiring that masks be worn in the sky.

Swell, when you get what you ask for, huh?

It’s like an update of the Mask of the Red Death.

  1. From the article:

“We’re still taking off our shoes because of one dude 21 years ago but can’t be bothered to wear masks after 1,000,000 dead from a virus that’s still killing over 500 a day. What a world,”

I’m glad to see the CEO’s are willing to die for those quarterly profits.

Oh, wait. They aren’t on those planes.

This is just terrible. It is so disappointing. Everytime we get close to controlling this virus, the me first people have a party on an airplane.

  6. Holy shit! (from the appropriately named r/SelfAwareWolves on Reddit: )

A Trump-appointed Federal judge in Florida has voided a national mask mandate for airplanes and other transportation. “Wearing a mask cleans nothing,” U.S. District Judge
Kathryn Kimball Mizelle wrote in her decision on Monday.

“At most, it traps virus droplets. But it neither ‘sanitizes’ the person wearing the
    mask nor ‘sanitizes’ the conveyance.”

I knew she went digging and found the definition of ‘sanitize’ from some 1940’s era dictionary, but I did not know that her opinion actually included the mechanism by which masks prevent the transmission of disease, which is explicity stated in the black letter law.

This isn’t an ‘inexperienced’ judge, this is malignant trolling. She is fully aware that her opinion is arrant bullshit top to bottom, she doesn’t care, because she has a lifetime appointmnet to own the libs, not work justice.

    The perfect trumpian kakistocratic judge.
