The McConnell Rule

Amply be-chinned #MoscowMitch McConnell

Axios morning email thingie tells us that amply be-chinned Mitch McConnell is already vowing to not proceed with any Biden SCOTUS nominee if the GOP retakes the Senate (weird formatting and enigmatic bullet usage is totally theirs):

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said Thursday that he won’t commit to hearings for a potential Supreme Court nominee if he’s the Senate Majority Leader leading up to the 2024 election.

Driving the news: The Senate minority leader told Axios’ Jonathan Swan that he won’t “put the cart before the horse,” but would expect President Biden to moderate if Republicans retake Congress.

  • “What I can tell you for sure, if House and Senate are Republican next year, the president will finally be the moderate he campaigned as,” he said.
  • McConnell refused to answer whether he was devising an argument against holding a potential hearing on a Supreme Court nominee next year.

It probably shouldn’t come as a shock as the GOP hates democracy, they hate America, and they hate you.

I like Glenn Kirschner’s position. If they refuse to consider a nominee, simply say that they waived their right to advise and consent and put the nominee on the bench. This shit really has to stop.

He just wants to make sure the correct unelected officials are selected who legislate from the bench. To an outside observer, this may appear as stacking the courts but to a Qpublican it’s SOP.

That letter z is everwhere these days. I am suspicious of it. It reminds of me of all theze poor russian slave boys who play games on their phones. They think it is pretty badass to go be a soldier.
They don’t think about the time, grandpa what did you do?
