H/T Scissorhead Skinny-D
Tiger Beat (the formatting is theirs):
— In a sign of how thoroughly the Supreme Court confirmation process has devolved into outright partisanship, a still-angry Sen. LINDSEY GRAHAM (R-S.C.) said Jackson would not have gotten a hearing if Republicans controlled the chamber. Biden would have had to name a more moderate pick, Graham said. “We’re supposed to be like trained seals over here clapping when you appoint a liberal. That’s not going to work.”
Institutional decay: As our colleague Sam Stein notes, “We are moving quickly towards a situation where if the Senate is in control of the opposite party of the president there will simply never be a SCOTUS confirmation. We may be there already.”
And in the meanwhile, there’s been a delay in the committee vote:
— Hurry up and wait: Sen. ALEX PADILLA (D-Calif.), a Judiciary Committee member whose vote Democrats need, was delayed in returning to D.C. today because his plane had to turn around due to a passenger’s medical emergency, per Marianne. That forced the committee to recess until he arrives.
Collins was a yes vote over the weekend
UPDATE 1: Willard’s vestigial spine returns for a limited appearance
UPDATE 2: Murkowski is a yes

That poor Stein wretch must have dropped from the sky naked and ignorant as a newborn babe sometime after 2016….

I think he needs to take some time off, his job is clearly too much for him.

I don’t think he can manage his life, much less his job.

Agreed – needs a mental health time off thing. And for his mental health as well.

He reminds me oh so much of Miss Pittipat in GWTW in that scene where she’s fainting because Scarlett is dancing in her black mourning dress with Rhett. He’s very emotionally unstable, even faux-rage-hysterical-moments-before-an-attack-of-incontinence, and NVB into the bargain. Yet the cretins of SC re-electing him to office.

KEEP re-electing him to office.

I say Willard’s vote was a straddling the fence campaign speech and that’s all it is. “…DO NOT go in there.” Quote from Ace Ventura as related to anything the Willard says.
