Death rides into town

…while you perform The Ides of March as the ritual Flamen Dialis, and lead the ovis Idulis in procession to the arx, but we would be remiss if we did not alert you that our pal Burr Deming has posted his best-of-the-web links complete with wry commentary at the essential blog Fair and Unbalanced.

We will of course keep this post on top and fresher posts —if any!— will be below.

You must have had a rich classical education. Even in my antiquity I learn new history from you, i.e., Flamen Dialis and ovis Idulis. Also, the woodcut [?] is cool. I would have thought Albrecht Dürer, but no: it has a later provenance: Engraved by Richard Julius Jungtow (German) in reference to the Revolution of 1848.

Kind of you to say that, but sadly, no.

What I did have were parents who pointed me to the encyclopedia anytime I asked any of the W questions (and sometimes “how’). Also, if I ever whined that I was bored, I was pointed to the library.
