Eiron, The Goddess of Irony, Strikes Again

Briefly assuming human form, Stephen Miller emerged on the surface to sue the January 6 Committee:

[F]ormer Trump adviser Stephen Miller filed suit Wednesday to block the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 riot from getting ahold of his cell phone records, arguing his parents and siblings could be caught up in the search because he’s still on the family phone plan.

Yes, you read that right. Miller, a 36-year old, uh, person(?) is still on his parents phone plan.

According to Miller (again, who is 36 years old), “the records sought by the committee would include “those evidencing sensitive, personal communications that Mr. Miller had with medical professionals and family regarding his wife and newborn daughter,” which is deeply/darkly ironic considering that his life work involves stealing human children to punish their parents.

Uh, I’m still on the family phone plan. It’s cheaper the more lines you bundle. My entire extended family got cell phone lines in the ’90s and we’ve just been passing them around, all on the same bill. We have ten phone numbers that are only one digit apart so if you are trying to reach somebody and mistype the last digit, you will always get another relative. I get calls for my uncles, cousins, Dad, and Mom pretty often. Sometimes somebody will call and ask for Mr. Lofgren and it will take us a little bit to figure out they were looking for my uncle, not me.

Normalize staying on the family plan to save money. The idea that we have some obligation to send extra dollars to the phone companies and shouldn’t take advantage of the deals they offer because of some BS notion of adulthood is stupid. “Ooh, look, I have my own cell phone bill, I’m an adult.” Well, I have a job, a kid, and a house, and this is the metric you’ve decided to use?

      Lofgren –

There are plenty of reasons to be on a friends and family plan; however, overthrowing the government is probably not one of the things his family was anticipating.

Given his vileness, maybe they should have?

  2. Given that the records being sought are not the content but the pen registers; date, number, time and length of call I can guarantee that none of that is “ sensitive medical information “
