Free-Market Enthusiast Blocks Internment Camp National Monument

H/T Scissorhead Bruce the Desert Rat

Guys, Utah Senator Mike Lee (you’ll never guess from which party!) is blocking the creation of a national monument dedicated to the forced internment of 120,000 Japanese Americans at the site of an actual internment camp in Colorado:

[U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet’s bill] co-sponsored by Colorado Democratic Sen. John Hickenlooper, failed to pass by unanimous consent last week due to a lone objection from Lee, who opposes adding new federal lands without adequate funding and in the past has advocated for “swaps” to prevent expanding federal land ownership.

…you know, so the likes of Ammon Bundy would be deprived of more land to graze his cattle free of charge. Libertarians want the free-market ownership of everything, except when they don’t.

That guy represents my district. We have a chance to vote him out this year. We will probably fail, but we will try. He is good friends with “Pork Sliders ” Boebert and “Gazpacho Greene”. He is the worst. I get a little defensive when people make fun of Utah, but we deserve it if this is what we do.
